Mercedes is a dedicated educator and musician with nearly a decade of experience teaching and mentoring students across a wide range of subjects, age groups, and cultural contexts. She holds a BA in Women’s Studies & Visual Studies from Harvard University, which she completed alongside the rigorous dual-degree program with Berklee College of Music, concentrating in songwriting and music production. Mercedes began her professional career as an educator in her hometown of Miami, FL, working as a performing arts instructor with children ages 5-13. Since then, she has taught around the world in private academies, university settings, and remotely, specializing in English and language arts with a focus on integrating arts into academic enrichment. Most recently, she worked in Santiago, Chile, with English pedagogy students at Universidad Mayor to develop art-centered strategies for literacy improvement. Known for her creative approach, strong classroom management skills, and deep commitment to student growth, Mercedes brings energy and adaptability to every session!
