    Beatrice Smigasiewicz has taught creative writing and art history in front of paintings at the Art Institute of Chicago, the Cantor of the Arts, Stanford University, and the University of Iowa.
    She has worked as a writing instructor, tutor, and mentor with young artists, students, and writers. In addition to teaching the building blocks of essay and prose writing, Beatrice works closely with each student to help raise sensitivity to cultural and historical contexts that shape each writer’s narrative and voice. Her writing has been recognized by the Fulbright Foundation, the Sutzkever Essay Prize, and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, among others.
