Lorenzo McClellan is a highly experienced history educator with a long-standing commitment to excellence in teaching and research. He earned his AB in history summa cum laude from Princeton University and went on to complete his PhD in history at Harvard University.
Throughout his career, Lorenzo has taught a wide range of courses—from introductory classes on postwar Europe to advanced seminars on challenging intellectual history texts, including works by Hegel and Habermas. He is passionate about bringing his experience in postsecondary teaching to his work on AP History courses, where he prepares high school students for rigorous college-level analysis and discussion.
Lorenzo is also eager to spearhead research initiatives with high schoolers, encouraging them to engage in original historical inquiry and critical analysis of primary sources. His students have gone on to achieve great success in academic life and beyond, winning prizes including the Rhodes Scholarship.
In his free time, Lorenzo enjoys reading novels and taking long exploratory walks around New York City, continually drawing inspiration for his teaching and research endeavors.
