Courtney has a combined 6 years of teaching experience of all age levels and subjects, such as English Language Arts, Literature, Civics/Social Studies and Human Rights. She also has a variety of experience developing and designing curriculum and training materials for both students and teachers. After graduating with her B.A. in Literary Studies and from Roanoke College with Honors in the Major, Honors Program designation, and Phi Beta Kappa, she received a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant grant. While in undergrad, she was a Writing Center Tutor and Resident Writing Tutor for an intro rhetoric course. Currently, she works with supporting industry professionals who are interested in volunteering in the classroom as an approach to closing the education inequity gap. Her passion for education is rooted in equity, cultural responsiveness, and inclusion to ensure the needs of all learners are met. Whenever she’s not educating, she’s reading, cooking, marathon training, traveling, or cuddling with her two tuxedo cats.
